RB Leipzig

Having finished third last season, RB Leipzig have managed to keep hold of all their star players this summer and have also made several exciting signings. But their most important piece of business has arguably been the arrival of head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann is considered to be one of the best young coaches in the sport, and will be aiming to take the fight to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the title race. Leipzig had the best defense in the league last season, while they also have a prolific attack led by Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen. Nagelsmann has some of the most exciting talents in Europe at his disposal, and they will only get better under his stewardship.

It will be interesting to see whether Leipzig are able to sustain a title challenge for the entirety of the campaign, but it would be a big surprise if they aren’t in the top four come the end of the season.

Key Players

Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen are two of the league’s most prolific goalscorers, and they should certainly prosper under Nagelsmann. In defense, Leipzig have the talented French duo of Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate. Despite being only 20, they are two of the league’s best defenders and make it very hard for teams to score against them. While new signings Christopher Nkunku and Hannes Wolf are two exciting talents who will cause teams a lot of problems with their playmaking abilities.

Transfers (in): Hannes Wolf (Red Bull Salzburg), Luan Candido (Palmeiras), Ademola Lookman (Everton), Christopher Nkunku (Paris Saint-Germain), Philipp Tschauner (Hannover), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea, loan)

Transfers (out): Bruma (PSV Eindhoven), Erik Majetschak (Erzgebirge Aue), Marius Müller (FC Luzern), Emile Smith Rowe (Arsenal, end of loan)
