Youcef Atal

One of the French league’s best performing right-backs, Youcef Atal has been attracting the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs thanks to his consistent displays for OGC Nice over the last 18 months.

The Algerian international, like Hakimi, is an attack minded full-back known for his blistering pace, his ability to dribble past defenders and cause a lot of problems going forward. Atal is primarily a right-back but is more than capable of playing as a wing-back, and he has even been used as a winger by Patrick Vieira this season.

His versatility and attacking threat could be a useful tool for the Black and Yellows as they look to replace Achraf Hakimi, who plays an influential role in the Black and Yellows’ attacking play.

The only drawback of signing Atal is that he has been out since December with a serious knee ligament injury, and it remains to be seen if he will be the same player when he returns to full fitness.
