Managing to keep hold of Sancho has probably been Borussia Dortmund’s best bit of business in this transfer window. The 20 year old proved last season that he is capable of making the difference and producing game changing moments on his own week in, week out. He scored 20 goals and provided 20 assists last season, and will be aiming to match and possibly improve on that tally this season.
Although he is a big threat out wide, Sancho is by no means a natural winger, as he likes to cut inside and find spaces more centrally. He was at his best when playing in a more central role behind the striker in the 3-4-2-1 formation last season.
So if Favre goes with the back three formation as expected, he will have the free rein to cut inside, play more centrally and cause defenders all sorts of problems.
