Michael Zorc not giving up on Borussia Dortmund’s top four hopes
Michael Zorc is optimistic that Borussia Dortmund can finish in the Bundesliga top four, even though they are seven points shy of fourth place, with just six games to go in the season. In an interview with the BVB Feiertagsmagazin (H/T: Ruhr Nachrichten), the BVB sporting director said:
"“We have to make it clear to the team that we are not giving up as long as it is still possible – and it is still possible. It is also up to us first and foremost: We have to win all of our games.”He added, “The most important thing is that the belief is still there that Champions League qualification is still achievable.”"
Borussia Dortmund currently find themselves in fifth place in the Bundesliga standings. The Black and Yellows are seven points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt, and eight behind third placed VfL Wolfsburg.

Catching Wolfsburg may prove to be an easier task, at least on paper. The Wolves still have to face Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. And if they fail to win those three games, Der BVB can close the gap significantly.
Eintracht Frankfurt also have tough games coming up against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen and SC Freiburg. But with the form the Eagles are in at the moment, few would bet against their chances of finishing in the top four.
First and foremost though, Borussia Dortmund must win their remaining six games to have any chance of qualifying for the Champions League. And it certainly won’t be easy, with a number of tough fixtures awaiting them in the coming weeks.
Dortmund go up against Werder Bremen at home on Sunday. They then host Union Berlin on Wednesday, before next weekend’s crunch six-pointer against VfL Wolfsburg. Edin Terzic’s side then take on RB Leipzig and Mainz 05, before ending their season at home to Bayer Leverkusen.
Borussia Dortmund are also due to take on second division side Holstein Kiel in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal on May 01.
