Erling Haaland back in team training ahead of the DFB-Pokal final

Borussia Dortmund have received a huge boost ahead of Thursday’s DFB-Pokal final against RB Leipzig, with Erling Haaland back in team training.
Erling Haaland has missed each of Borussia Dortmund’s last two games with a muscle injury. But according to Ruhr Nachrichten, he made his return to team training on Tuesday. The report adds that Haaland completed the entire training session without any restrictions, making it increasingly likely that he will be in the squad for the Pokal final.
It still remains to be seen if the 20 year old will be able to start on Thursday. But the chances of him at least making the bench will certainly be high if he can get through the training sessions unscathed.
Haaland has found the net 37 times in just 38 appearances this season, so having him in the squad will be massive for Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of winning the DFB-Pokal. The striker has also scored four goals in two appearances against Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Borussia Dortmund will also welcome Jude Bellingham back to the squad on Thursday, after he missed Saturday’s game due to suspension. But Marwin Hitz has been ruled out for the remaining three games of the season after suffering a knee injury. So Roman Bürki will start between the sticks in the DFB-Pokal final.
Borussia Dortmund earned a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday, courtesy of a Jadon Sancho brace. Thursday’s game should be another cracking contest between the two teams, who will no doubt be aiming to end their season with a trophy.
