Borussia Dortmund play their first game of the new year on Saturday as they go up against the in-form Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund begin their 2022 with a tough away game against Eintracht Frankfurt. After ending 2021 on a disappointing note, the Black and Yellows will be looking to make a strong start to the new year. But Eintracht Frankfurt are in excellent form going into the game, and could cause a lot of problems to the BVB defence.

Marco Rose will have to rejig his defence slightly, with Manuel Akanji (back in individual training after knee surgery) and Dan-Axel Zagadou (Covid-19) both set to miss the game against Eintracht Frankfurt. The game also comes too soon for Gio Reyna (back in training after muscle injury). And Marius Wolf (Covid-19) is also unavailable.

Here is a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Goalkeeper: Gregor Kobel

Gregor Kobel will return to the starting XI after missing the Hertha Berlin game due to a cold. The Swiss shot stopper was one of Borussia Dortmund’s best players during the first half of the season. And he will be looking to build on those performances in the coming months.
