Borussia Dortmund hopeful trio can return for FC Köln clash

Borussia Dortmund are hoping to have Marco Reus, Karim Adeyemi and Gregor Kobel back in the squad for this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against FC Köln.
Borussia Dortmund’s winning run came to an end last week, as they were beaten by Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League before being held to a 2-2 draw by Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. The Black and Yellows had to make do without a number of key players in both games. But the hope is that at least three of those players will be able to return to the squad this weekend.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Marco Reus is expected to make his return to training soon after recovering from the flu-like infection that forced him to miss the Revierderby.
Gregor Kobel and Karim Adeyemi are also likely to return to training this week, and the hope is that they will both be available to feature against FC Köln on Saturday.
Adeyemi sustained a muscle fibre tear last month and has been forced to miss Borussia Dortmund’s last four games as a result. While Kobel picked up a muscle injury while warming up prior to the home game against RB Leipzig earlier this month.
Borussia Dortmund will be without the injured Julian Brandt and Youssoufa Moukoko for this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against FC Köln. Emre Can will also be forced to miss Saturday’s game. The midfielder picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Bundesliga on Saturday, and is now facing a one-match suspension.
