Report: Borussia Dortmund pull out of the race to sign Trevoh Chalobah

Borussia Dortmund have seemingly decided against signing Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, with the versatile defender unlikely to be fit again till the end of January.
It was reported last month that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea as they look to bolster their defensive ranks in the January transfer window. But they have now apparently decided against making a move for the 24 year old. According to Sky Sport, both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have both dropped out of the race to sign Chalobah.
The defender is currently sidelined with a thigh injury and has yet to play for the Chelsea first-team this season. He is unlikely to be fully fit again till the end of January.
Chalobah has been heavily linked with a move away from the English Premier League side despite still having more than four years left on his current contract. Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma are among the other teams reportedly interested in signing him.
Borussia Dortmund are currently lacking depth at centre-back and the two full-back positions. And they will also have to make do without Ramy Bensebaini for up to six games in January, with the left-back set to represent Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
So the likelihood is that the Black and Yellows will look to bring in reinforcements in the two full-back positions during the January transfer window.
Valentin Barco and Juan Miranda are the other full-backs who have been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks.
