Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 3-2 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Having trailed 2-0 until 60 minutes after Leon Avdullahu and Tim Lamperle combined to give Die Kraichgauer a healthy lead, Serhou Guirassy and Fabio Silva struck a goal apiece to bring the BVB level before debutant Ethan Nwaneri came off the bench to force an own goal from Albian Hajdari and complete the spectacular turnaround.

Back-to-back wins for BVB
With two wins from opening two Bundesliga games, Borussia Dortmund have made a good start to the season. In fact, it's the first time since 2022-23 season that BVB have claimed six points from six at this stage of the campaign.
King of comebacks
This was the 12th time that Dortmund came back from two goals to win a Bundesliga game, including an eighth time in the last 11 years. In 2026 alone, the BVB have done it twice now, having previously fought back from 2-0 down to beat Hamburger SV 3-2 in March.

With his appearance on Saturday, Julian Ryerson has now played 100 times in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund, a big milestone for the player and one that reflects his importance in the side. After drifting in and out of the side in his first campaign four years ago, the Norwegian has steadily grown in influence and has made 21 assists while bagging seven goals during this run.
Two in two for Guirassy
Dortmund have played two Bundesliga games in the 2026-27 season thus far and Serhou Guirassy has scored in both, once each against Hamburger SV on matchday one and then against Hoffenheim to start the comeback. This marks the second year running wherein he's been on target in their first two top-flight matches of a season.
A rare own goal for BVB
Dortmund don't really see many own goals. But on Saturday, Albian Hajdari turned Ethan Nwaneri's cross into his own net that won the match for the former. This marks the first own goal in BVB's favor since 21 February 2026, when Romulo scored for them during their clash with RB Leipzig, 12 games ago.
Three games, three goals for Silva
Fabio Silva has played three matches in the new season: one in the Supercup, one in the DFB-Pokal and one in Bundesliga, scoring once every single time. With three goals to his name, he's already matched his tally from the entirety of last season and could be set for a prolific spell ahead at this rate.
