Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac was all the praises for teenagers Samuele Inacio and Mathis Albert, both of whom made their club debut on Sunday.

The BVB returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga in emphatic fashion as they crushed Freiburg 4-0 in their 1000th home league game and 600th victory there.

Maximilian Beier, Serhou Guirassy and Ramy Bensebaini all struck in the opening stanza before Fabio Silva scored in the 87th minute to put the final nail in the visitors' coffin.

Coming off the back of consecutive defeats, the Black and Yellows were looking to deliver a response here and did so in convincing fashion.

The win also saw Dortmund officially qualify for next season's Champions League, something that had been delayed after Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim losses.

Sunday's game saw Kovac give debuts to two young talents, Inacio and Albert.

18-year-old Inacio had received a few call-ups before but hadn't really got the chance to make his senior debut, but that changed at the weekend when the Croatian manager started him upfront.

"“What impresses me is the way he works so hard, how he trains – with dedication, with passion, with intensity. That’s exactly what I demand from young players who have a certain amount of talent. Alongside natural talent, they also need the talent for hard work.” "
said Kovac

Starting alongside Julian Brandt right behind lone striker Serhor Guirassy, Inacio displayed confidence that belied his age and composure that could put even seasoned stars to shame.

The Italian's movement and pass for Brandt in the build-up to their second goal was phenomenal as Inacio looked right at home in his very first appearance in Dortmund colors.

In stoppage-time, there was another debut as Mathis Albert was sent on to see the game off in the dying embers as he became the youngest American ever to debut for Dortmund.

Just a month shy of his 17th birthday, the South Carolina starlet joined Christian Pulisic, Giovani Reyna and Cole Campbell to have debut for the BVB as teenagers.

Kovac was full of praises for him too.

""The same goes for Mathis Albert. He, too, is a talented young lad who played his first game today. I like the way they conduct themselves in training, and that’s why they’re being rewarded. I’m just the one who then gives them the opportunity.”"
added the Dortmund manager

Borussia Dortmund return to action on Sundaym 3 May against Borussia Monchengladbach.
