"I have no idea" - Mats Hummels still coy on Borussia Dortmund future
By Tushar Bahl
Mats Hummels has once again stated that he has no idea what his future looks like, with rumours swirling that he is increasingly likely to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Borussia Dortmund's season ended in agonising fashion on Saturday as they suffered a narrow defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final. The game marked one club legend's final game in black and yellow, with Marco Reus set to leave BVB at the end of the season.
Another modern legend's future is also shrouded in mystery, with Mats Hummels taking his time before deciding on whether or not he wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund.
Reports have come out in recent days claiming that the veteran centre-back is leaning towards a move away from Borussia Dortmund, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season. But Hummels has stated that he does not know yet where he will be playing next season.
"I have no idea. I don't know. It feels strange not to know, everything will be decided in the next few weeks. Today the disappointment of the defeat in the final is predominant. I have no idea what will happen to me in July. I like the situation, but it's also a bit strange," Hummels told ZDF.
If Hummels does look to leave Borussia Dortmund, a move to Italy could be in the offing. AC Milan and Juventus are both said to be interested in signing the 35 year old, who was one of BVB's top performers this season.
