Euro 2024 star too expensive for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund appear set to be priced out of a move for Ferdi Kadıoğlu, who has been one of the breakout stars of the European Championship.
Ferdi Kadıoğlu was one of Türkiye’s top performers during their run to the Euro 2024 quarterfinals. Borussia Dortmund had identified the 24 year old as one of their preferred left-back targets following their failure to sign Ian Maatsen on a permanent transfer. But it looks like they will not be able to afford a move for him this summer.
This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that Fenerbahce would like to keep Kadıoğlu at the club. And if they do decide to sell him this summer, it would be for a transfer fee that is way more than 30 million euros.
Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing Kadıoğlu, who has two years left on his current contract with Fenerbahce. Kadıoğlu scored three goals and assisted a further five for Fenerbahce last season, and followed that up with strong performances for Türkiye during the European Championship.
It remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund have any other alternatives in mind for the left-back spot. Reports claimed earlier this month that Borussia Dortmund could shelve their plans to sign a new left-back and instead go into the new season with Ramy Bensebaini as their first-choice left-back, with Tom Rothe as the back-up option following his impressive season on loan at Holstein Kiel.
Borussia Dortmund are also set to sign midfielder Pascal Groß, who is very much capable of filling in at left-back.
