Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy admitted he's always on the look out for more goals. The Guinean struck an admirable 17 in the Bundesliga last season, topped by only two players.

While most players would be content with such numbers, but Guirassy isn't any ordinary striker. He aims for more and hence wasn't satisfied with his returns.

In an interview with Bundesliga - the DFL Magazine, the 30-year-old was asked if he was content with his 17-goal salvo for the BVB last season, to which he said:

""Those are obviously good numbers for a striker. But I always want more. For me, that’s not enough yet. If you asked someone else, they’d probably be very happy with 17 goals in a season. But I just can’t get enough of goals.""
said Guirassy

In his debut campaign, the former VfB Stuttgart man netted 21 goals in the league and 38 in all competitions. He scored 16 fewer last term but was still vital to Dortmund's fortunes.

Guirassy scored a few crucial strikes that earned his side important points in their push for the league title that ultimately fizzled out in the home stretch with a couple of shock losses.

Despite his blistering exploits, there's uncertainty that he may not stay at the Signal Iduna Park beyond this summer though Guirassy's contract runs until June 2030.

The striker has been linked with Turkish side Fenerbahce, the rumors of which have since been dismissed by his agent. But other clubs reportedly are monitoring him too.

Premier League teams Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested while LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid have been linked too.

Although Dortmund are keen to retain him next summer, sporting director Nils-Ole Book has revealed that they'd only consider 'extraordinary' offers, touted to be in the range of €40 million.

However, Niko Kovac's side must pull out all stops to keep him beyond the summer. Guirassy has the right kind of mindset; he doesn't want to rest on his laurels and aims for more impact.

As Borussia Dortmund look forward to winning trophies next season, such an attitude bodes well in their endeavors. Here's a striker that's hungry for goals; doesn't want to settle for the bare minimum.

That's exactly the kind of player to build your squad around. Guirassy's ambition, even in his 30s, is impressive and could make a big impact once more in 2026-27 season.
