According to Sky Sports journalist Patrick Berger, Luighi from Palmeiras is still in Borussia Dortmund's radar, as the young striker is a player that many clubs are interested in. However, Berger claimed that no club has made concrete offers yet, while his price tag is around 15-20 million euros.
While other outlets have reported Luighi as a winger, his profile is more of a striker who can also play as a center-forward and, eventually, as a winger. The young man has been in the spotlight earlier this year due to racist abuses he suffered while playing the Libertadores U20s in Paraguay. Luighi, despite the unfortunate situation, showcased a tremendous amount of character, exposing the problems in South American football in dealing with these kinds of situations.
Despite that, Luighi has little experience in professional football and, even with his undeniable talents, he would require some time to adapt to Germany and the Bundesliga. Only time will tell if Dortmund will materialize their interest. Still, Luighi is on BVB's list in what promises to be a busy transfer window, especially if BVB qualify for the Champions League.
According to Patrick Berger, the Black and Yellows are looking for four different positions, at least, across the pitch to reinforce their squad for the 2025/2026 season, including a box-to-box midfielder, a number 10, a centre-back, and a back-up striker. A few old faces are being strongly linked with BVB, like Jobe Bellingham and Rayan Cherki, while some others, like Mikey Moore, Victor Froholdt, Ritsu Doan, and Juan Giménez, are also allegedly on the club's shopping list.
