According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayer 04 Leverkusen have entered the race for Robin with Borussia Dortmund for the signature of Frankfurt's defender Robin Koch. Leverkusen are prepared to trigger Koch's release clause of €18–20 million, as some talks have already taken place. However, a final decision still hasn't been made yet.

RB Leipzig were already in the race, and have held talks regarding signing Koch. Borussia Dortmund remain interested as well, as they look for an alternative depth option on defense since Niko Kovač implemented a back-threes system.

Despite all interested parties, Plettenberg claims that it is an open race as of now. Eintracht Frankfurt also want to keep the German international and are pressuring for a contract extension, while Robin Koch has not made any commitments to any club so far.

According to Patrick Berger, the Black and Yellows are looking for four different positions, at least, across the pitch to reinforce their squad for the 2025/2026 season, including a box-to-box midfielder, a number 10, a centre-back, and a back-up striker. A few old faces are being strongly linked with BVB, like Jobe Bellingham and Rayan Cherki, while some others, like Mikey Moore, Victor Froholdt, Ritsu Doan, and Juan Giménez, are also allegedly on the club's shopping list.
